Country Road - 5x7 - Oil on Linen Panel
I love these little country scenes, is there anything more fun than driving back roads with your music playing way too loud?

Blue Mountain Afternoon

Blue Mountain Afternoon - 6x8 - Oil on Linen

Click to Bid

I've had an absolutely fantastic couple of weeks! I've attended the Wallowa Valley Festival in Joseph, Oregon, where I won second place in my category, and the very next weekend I facilitated a paint out in beautiful Walla Walla for Plein Air Washington Artists. This little painting was completed on location in Walla Walla, near Rooks Park on the edge of town where the Blue Mountains peak above rolling wheat fields.

A Walk in the Snow - 5x7 - Oil on Gessobord

Sold

Here it is, Daily Painting number 99. I can't believe tomorrow's will be number 100, time flies when you're having fun! It's definitely been an amazing learning experience for me.

The scene I painted here is from a local trail system that runs along the Yakima River called the Chamna Natural Preserve. The snow was an interesting challenge for me! Here are a couple work in progress shots:

Winter Path

A Winter Path - 5x7 - Oil on Panel
Well, it looks like my winter denial could only last as long as my stash of summer photos, and that's been running dry. So I'm facing reality and painting some winter scenes straight from the shrub steppe of Washington!

Hillside Patterns - 6x6 - Oil on Panel - Landscape

Sold

This little gem of a hillside is somewhere in Idaho, near Hell's Canyon. I've been going through a lot of my old firefighting photos looking for good references, and this view from near our base camp caught my eye!
